What you should know

Tickets for the first match of the second season of the Nepal Premier League (NPL) have been sold out. Tickets for the first day, Mangsir 1, which has the facility to purchase tickets from Khalti mobile wallet, have been sold out.

CAN spokesperson Chhumbi Lama confirmed that all tickets for the first day were sold out. Similarly, Khalti CEO Binay Khadka also said that all tickets for both premium and general categories had been sold by Friday afternoon. He said that this time the tickets were sold out a little later than the first time (Season 1).

Recounting the experience of the last season, Khadka said, “Earlier the tickets were sold out in two or three hours, but this time they were sold out in about 24 hours. This shows that the attraction and enthusiasm of the audience towards the game is still there.”

Khadka said that Khalti has increased its server capacity for this season in view of the high traffic and demand. “This time the Kirtipur ground has become a little more organized,” he said. “Earlier there was no compound and people entered randomly, but now the seating arrangements have been arranged.” Earlier, it was difficult to manage because you had to stand or sit in the open field to watch.’

Now, as the number of seats is fixed, he feels that ticket sales have also become easier. According to Khadka, CAN has allowed Khalti to sell about 8,000 tickets, while about 2,000 tickets are allocated for the players’ families, sponsors, organizers, etc.
