Abhishek's century

After Abhishek Sharma played one of the best innings of Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket, Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Punjab Kings by 8 wickets on Saturday.

After winning the first match of the season, Sunrisers lost the next four matches and after this win, they climbed from the bottom to the eighth position. After Abhishek scored 141 runs in 55 balls, Sunrisers scored 246 runs. The

target was completed in 9 balls. Player of the match Abhishek scored a century in 40 balls. He hit a total of 14 fours and 10 sixes in his innings. 

After Abhishek and Travis Head added 171 runs in the first wicket within 13 overs, Sunrisers' victory was confirmed. Head scored 66 off 37 balls with 9 fours and 3 sixes. Henrik Klaasen scored 21 off 14 balls with 2 fours and 1 six and Ishan Kishan remained unbeaten with 9 runs off 6 balls. 

Punjab, who won the toss and elected to bat, lost 6 wickets and scored 245 runs. Priyansh Arya was out for 36 with 2 fours and 4 sixes in 13 balls, Prabhasimran Singh was out in 23 balls for 42 with 7 fours and 1 six, Nehal Badhera was dismissed for 27 runs with 2 fours and 1 six. 

Captain Shreyas Iyer scored the highest 82 runs. He hit 6 fours and a six off 36 balls. Marcus Stoinis, who hit Mohammed Sami for a six in the last four balls of the innings, remained unbeaten on 34 off 11 balls. Mohammed Sami scored 75 runs without taking any wicket in 4 overs. Harshal Patel took 4 wickets for 42 runs and Ishan Malinga took 2 wickets for 45 runs. 

Lucknow's important victory

Despite the absence of Mitchell Marsh, Lucknow Super Giants beat Gujarat Titans by 6 wickets in the first match on Saturday and climbed to the third position. Shubman Gill and Sai Sudarshan made a sensational start by adding 120 runs without loss in the first 10 overs, but Gujarat lost 6 wickets in 8 overs and managed to score only 60 runs. The total of the team reached 180-6. 

On the first ball of the 13th over, Gill was dismissed for 60 runs. He hit 6 fours and 1 six off 38 balls. In the next over, Ravi Vishnoi dismissed Sudarsharn. Sudarshan was dismissed for 56 off 37 balls with 7 fours and 1 six. But then Jos Buttler was dismissed for 16 off 14 balls, Washington Sundar for 2, Serfan Rutherford for 22 off 19 balls. Shahrukh Khan remained unbeaten scoring 11 runs in 6 balls. 

Lucknow's Shardul Thakur spent 34 runs in the over and Vishnoi took 2-2 in 4 overs and Digwesh Rathi took 30 runs in 4 overs and Avesh Khan took 1-1 wickets in 4 overs. 

After Rishabh Pant, who came in place of Mars, added 65 runs in 6.2 overs with Aiden Markram, Lucknow scored 186 runs in 3 balls to stop Gujarat's consecutive winning streak. Rishabh, who is playing in the opening for the first time in 10 years, scored 21 runs in 18 balls with 4 fours. Player of the match Markram scored 58 runs off 31 balls with 9 fours and 1 six. 

Nicholas Pooran, who was in excellent form, played another match-winning innings. He scored 61 runs off 34 balls with 1 four and 7 sixes. Although David Miller was dismissed for 7 runs, Ayush Badoni scored 28 not out in 20 balls and Abdul Samad scored 2 runs to win Lucknow. Gujarat's famous Krishna took 2 wickets by spending only 26 runs in 4 overs.
