Shishir Khanal, the candidate of the National Independent Party, has won in Kathmandu Constituency No. 6. According to the Office of the Returning Officer, Khanal received 27,719 votes.

He was elected from the same constituency in 2079 as well. His nearest rival, Krishna Baniya 'Sabuj' of the Nepali Congress, received 6,647 votes. UML candidate Aman Maskey came third with 4,373 votes. He was also the Minister of Education for some time. 

43,868 votes were cast in Kathmandu-6. The Election Commission has not made a formal announcement. 

Khanal, who contested the election in 2079 against Bhimsen Das Pradhan of the then ruling coalition and Sarbendra Khanal of the main opposition party UML, won by a margin of 5,293 votes. He received 14,204 votes. His nearest rival Sarbendra Khanal received 8,911 votes. The Nepali Congress candidate received 8,805 votes.
