Biraj Bhakta Shrestha of the National Independent Party has won for the second time in Kathmandu constituency number 8. He received 24,592 votes, according to the Election Commission.
His nearest rival, NCP candidate Suman Sayami, got 3,217 votes. Nepali Congress candidate Sapana Rajbhandari came third with 2,835 votes. UML candidate Rajesh Shakya came fourth with 1,909 votes.
Shrestha was elected from the same constituency in the 2079 elections. He also served as the Minister of Youth and Sports for some time.
