NCP Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal has expressed his commitment to transform the region from a base of revolution into a model district for development by holding public meetings and interaction programs at various locations in Sisne Rural Municipality, Rukum East.

At a program organized in Khupichar, Khara, Bhing, Pokhara, Sisneri and Dhape of Sisne Rural Municipality, he recalled the memories of the People's War and said that Rukum-Rolpa was his political workplace. 'Rukumpur is not a new place for me. I came here 41 years ago. Rukum-Rolpa is the base area of the People's War under my leadership. I led the revolution from here,' he said.

Coordinator Dahal, referring to Rukumpur as his other workplace, said that he gained new energy by coming here. He compared the meeting with the people to a victory celebration. 'Somewhere there is a grand procession, somewhere there are panchebajas playing. It feels like we are celebrating a victory celebration, not asking for votes.' he said.

He mentioned that a referendum will be held between the forces that killed the youth in the Bhadra 23 incident, the forces that caused arson and destruction on Bhadra 24, and the forces that stood in favor of good governance, republic and peace. "The people will decide whether to support the trend of not killing people, not setting fires, and ending corruption, or to support violence and destruction," he said.

Stating that he gained new energy by reaching out to the people despite physical difficulties, Dahal pledged to make Rukum East a model district for development.
