A committee has been formed to hold talks with the establishment party, including President Sher Bahadur Deuba, on behalf of the Nepali Congress Special General Convention.

The committee includes leaders Madhu Acharya, Devraj Chalise, Pradeep Poudel and Gururaj Ghimire. The committee was formed after efforts throughout the day on Monday to reach a consensus failed after President Deuba refused to take ownership of the special general convention. The special general convention is continuing at Bhrikutimandap since Sunday under the leadership of General Secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwaprakash Sharma.
