Nepali Congress leader Mahesh Acharya has described the emergence of a new generation in the party as a natural and welcome process.
Speaking at the inaugural session of the special general convention, he termed the current general secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwaprakash Sharma as the 'Congress of tomorrow'.
Leader Acharya opined that both the history and future of the party should be respected equally. He said, 'My best wishes to the two general secretaries, they are the Congress of tomorrow. Sher Bahadurji and his generation are the Congress of yesterday. I also have respect for the Congress of yesterday.'
He interpreted the presence of workers from across the country as hope for the new leadership. He added, 'Friends from Mechi-Mahakali are present here to welcome the Congress of tomorrow.'
