Leader Bhusal called the special general convention 'Kurukshetra' and said that it should convey a message of political justice.
Nepali Congress leader Pushpa Bhusal has said that the party should be kept free from factionalism, nepotism and leftist influence. Speaking at the inaugural session of the special general convention on Saturday, she stressed that the Congress should now go among the people based on its own constitution and ideas.
Leader Bhusal called the special general convention 'Kurukshetra' and said that it should give a message of political justice. She said, 'We want the central leaders and general convention delegates from all over the country to give a message of political justice from the Kurukshetra of this special general convention tomorrow. This movement should now be decisive for the rights of 54 percent of the general convention delegates.'
Targeting the internal turmoil within the party, she said, 'Congress should now be separate from factions and favoritism. We do not recognize factions, we do not accept favoritism. We will not allow Congress to weaken.' She said that the next generation should move forward with the energy of BP Koirala's ideas and struggle.
Referring to the emergence of new political parties, Bhusal believed that Congress should be ideologically strong to face the challenges that come by creating a democratic narrative. She said, 'Now Congress should be freed from the left alliance. It should become the Congress of the Nepali people. This general convention is necessary to give energy to make Congress a party that spreads like a drum.'
