Congress Special General Convention: Senior representative to chair closed session

The closed session of the Congress Special General Convention will be chaired by the senior general convention representative.

The inauguration session, which will begin tomorrow, will be chaired by the Kathmandu district president, the special general convention secretariat has stated.

According to the general convention management committee, work related to delegate registration, distribution of identity cards, and accommodation coordination has also been progressing at a brisk pace since yesterday. As the delegates started arriving, volunteers were mobilized and venue management was made more efficient, informed Susan Vaidya, member secretary of the public mobilization committee.

As delegates from various districts across the country started arriving in Kathmandu, the hustle and bustle around the general convention venue has intensified. Central member Ajay Babu Shiwakoti informed that delegates have gradually started reaching Bhrikuti Mandap for the special general convention to be held on Sunday and Monday.

As the stage construction, hall decoration, and technical preparations are reaching their final stages, the venue area has become more active with the presence of delegates and workers.

The special general convention called with the direct involvement of Nepali Congress general secretaries Gagan Kumar Thapa and Bishwaprakash Sharma is considered important from the perspective of internal political debate within the party.
