The two general secretaries say that the party cannot be a witness to the process of selecting candidates by dividing the party into 60/40.
The two general secretaries of the Nepali Congress have expressed their disagreement over the selection of candidates for the National Assembly. General secretaries Bishwaprakash Sharma and Gagan Kumar Thapa have expressed dissatisfaction with the candidate selection process within the party.
Sharma has boycotted the meeting of the performance committee. He was not present in yesterday's meeting either. He had already informed the acting president Purna Bahadur Khadka by telephone that he would not attend the meeting. Similarly, another general secretary Thapa expressed a different opinion in the meeting.
He had said that he could not even set certain criteria for the candidate selection process and could not be a witness to the selection of candidates by dividing the old-fashioned 60/40.
