The group supporting the organization of the special general convention on December 10 and 11 has clarified that it has no involvement in the incident that occurred at the party office.

In a statement issued after the meeting held in connection with the special general convention, the group expressed suspicion that the incident may have been exaggerated with the aim of defaming the general convention.

‘We have no involvement in the demonstration at the party office, a fair and credible investigation should be conducted to reveal the truth of the incident,’ the statement said.

Former Vice President Bimalendra Nidhi, who was on his way to attend the Central Working Committee meeting, was surrounded by a crowd of cadres in favor of the special general convention outside the gate and shouted slogans. For a while, there was even a scuffle between Nidhi and the cadres.

The supporters of the special general convention have said that the decision made by the meeting of the working committee is unacceptable. Although the statute makes it mandatory to call a special general convention, the Central Working Committee’s meeting last Friday decided that it was not justified. In addition, they have once again drawn the attention of the party leadership to various letters and memoranda that were previously submitted to the party leadership for calling a special general convention.

Similarly, serious regret has been expressed over the exaggerated and irresponsible statements made by some leaders in responsible positions in the context of the special general convention. It has been warned that such statements will negatively impact the party's internal democracy and dignity.

The statement said, "Any action that undermines the constitutional supremacy, disrespects and humiliates the general convention delegates cannot be accepted. We strongly oppose any attempt to interfere with the dignity and rights of the special general convention delegates."
