Although possible options are being discussed, Balen and his team have not yet reached a conclusion on the matter.

Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah is set to contest the parliamentary elections after reaching a seven-point agreement with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) President Ravi Lamichhane before the early hours of Sunday.
But there is still no clarity on where he will contest from. Everyone is also interested in who his opponents are. Balen and his team have not yet reached a conclusion on this issue.
We spoke to members of Mayor Shah's team to find out to what extent internal preparations have been made for him to contest the election. According to them, Mayor Shah has been discussing where he would be suitable to contest the election for some time, and Shah himself has been taking the lead in it. An aide close to Balen said, "But no conclusion has been reached on this yet."
The most suitable option for Balen is Kathmandu, where the mayor was elected. His close friends say that Balen will win no matter where he contests from in Kathmandu. Balen's house is in Sinamangal, Kathmandu, which falls under constituency number 2.
His team has also shown another option for Balen, constituency number 3 in Mahottari, where he is his ancestral home. But there does not seem to be enough discussion about this constituency.
Balen is also discussing with friends the option of contesting the election in Jhapa constituency number 5. Earlier, UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli was elected for the sixth time from this constituency by defeating his nearest rival Khagendra Pandav Adhikari of the Nepali Congress by a margin of 28,576 votes. At that time, UML had an electoral alliance with the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP). Balen used to tell his close associates that it would be fun to defeat the then Prime Minister and UML Chairman Oli in the situation that arose after the Genji movement. That is why his team members have been saying that Jhapa-5 is the constituency where Balen will contest the election. Balen and his team have also started the process of understanding this.
