KP Sharma Oli has been elected as the UML President for the third time. Oli has secured 1,663 votes. Similarly, another candidate for the presidency, Ishwor Pokharel, has secured 564 votes.

Ishwor Pokharel, who is also a former general secretary, is contesting for the post of president for the first time. Earlier, Oli was elected as president for the first time in the ninth general convention held in Kathmandu in 2071.

Then, in 2078, he was elected president for the second time in the Sauraha general convention. In the eighth general convention held in Butwal in 2065, Oli was defeated by Jhalanath Khanal.

2,227 votes were cast in the election. According to the Central Election Commission of the 11th General Convention, 36 general convention delegates were absent from voting.
