Former Communications Minister Gokul Baskota has been defeated in the UML secretary post. Baskota, who was previously a standing committee member, was defeated in the secretary post by a narrow margin.

Nine secretaries have been elected in the UML in the 11th general convention. Baskota finished in tenth place with 1,030 votes. Former Health Minister Bhanubhakta Dhakal, who was ahead of him, received 1,108 votes.

All nine candidates from the Oli panel have won the secretary post. Among those elected as secretary, Mahesh Basnet received the highest number of 1,544 votes. Similarly, Padmakumari Aryal (1530) is in second place.

Chhabilal Bishwakarma received 1,506 votes, Sherdhan Rai received 1,503 votes, Hikmat Kumar Karki received 1,337 votes, Khagaraj Adhikari received 1,231 votes, Yamalal Kandel received 1,185 votes, and Rajan Bhattarai (1,181 votes) were elected as secretary.

KP Sharma Oli has been elected as president for the third time. Oli received 1,663 votes, while another candidate for president, Ishwor Pokharel, received 564 votes.

This time, 2,227 votes were cast for the UML leadership election. According to the UML 11th General Convention Central Election Commission, 36 general convention delegates were absent.
