Some Gen-Gs are also direct candidates in the elections to be held on 21 Falgun. Many Gen-G warriors are on the streets with the aim of making the dreams of Gen-G martyrs, wounded, and warriors come true. They are speaking. They are writing. They are asking questions.

Four friends, who often plan, organize, and collaborate on program plans, dreams, and highway strategies, gathered at a house in Khajura, Ward No. 8, Birendranagar, the capital of Karnali Province.
We had already been on the streets for various campaigns, uprisings, social justice and good governance in the country. We had also tried to fulfill our duty as a conscious citizen in the movement on September 8. Therefore, the main topic of our meeting on the night of September 7 was the Gen-G movement to be held across the country on September 8. Social media was taking a violent turn. Youth across the country were considering September 8 as the day to end the dictatorship. The person Gen-G and the youth called the dictator was the then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
There were two reasons for this movement. First, the Nepal government had banned all social media except TikTok. Whereas, the new generation was in favor of social media platforms not being banned. The Gen-G generation, who grew up with technology, felt that the government was interfering with the freedom of expression of citizens.
Second, there was widespread corruption and the Nepo Baby trend that was going on around the world. How does the life of leaders change completely after they become ministers and other public positions? And how are their children living a luxurious life from the same benefits? This question was the main one.
Who is Gen-G?
The generation born between 1997 and 2012 is Gen-G. That is, this word refers to a generation or age group. And, people have different opinions regarding Gen-G. The definition that was used earlier as youth has now become synonymous with that definition, Gen-G. Although Gen-G is now the age group above 13 years and below 28 years. In some countries, this age is also included in the age group of youth. But in the context of Nepal, youth refers to the age group between 18 and 35 years.
After the Gen-G rebellion in Nepal, many aspects have changed. First of all, the question is what happened after the Gen-G rebellion. Basically, an interim government was formed after the rebellion. Gen-G voted and negotiated through Discord and made former Chief Justice Sushila Karki the Prime Minister. The main objective of this government now is to hold elections on time.
What did we do on September 8?
Initially, I have written a group of four people. I was one of the group. We made a public call for September 8. If you want to join the rebellion that will take place the next day, please be present at the following time and place. We had prepared a letter pad with the same name and prepared a call letter with the aim of launching a campaign called 'Jurukk Gen-G, Jiwandho Karnali'. Within minutes of preparing and posting the call letter, others also posted and shared it everywhere on social media.
After making the call letter public, we prepared a roadmap for what to do on September 8. In the plan, we said we would be at Mangalgadhi Chowk at 12 noon. The program was to march around the market from Mangalgadhi Chowk playing the song ‘Mantha Hu Ma, Mantha’, and then turn into a corner meeting at Ghantaghar Park, and recite patriotic songs and poems at Ghantaghar Park. I was the program director.
But when the program started on September 8, a larger crowd gathered than we expected. Instead of singing songs as planned, we marched around the market and chanted slogans and reached Ghantaghar Park. After reaching the park, a group said that we would not hold a program of this nature and that group left. We waited for some time. And we completed the program as planned. We not only completed the program. We also said that our rebellion has been postponed indefinitely.
On September 9, the country suffered a huge loss. I did not attend any of the activities the next day because I said the movement was postponed indefinitely the previous day. Participating in any violent and violent activities or inciting such activities is against the duty of a good citizen. I want to be a good and conscious citizen of this country.
The way we conducted and ended the Gen-G rebellion in Karnali, those activities and the theoretical ground defense bomb group went hand in hand. That is why I am now affiliated with the Nepal Gen-G Front. I advocate for advanced democracy. I question for accountability, transparency, social justice and good governance. I believe that no one is above the citizen and no one should escape the questioning.
45 people have been martyred in that movement. A total of 76 people have died. And, nearly 2500 people have been injured. This is a tragic incident. However, the government has decided to consider the Gen-G uprising as a people's movement of 2082 and to celebrate Gen-G Martyrs' Day on 23 Bhada.
The remnants of this uprising are still there. The uprising has not found a way out. The country is still moving forward from a transitional period. An agreement has been reached between former mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Balen Shah and president of the National Independent Party Ravi Lamichhane to resolve this. The first point of the agreement is to institutionalize the demands of Gen-G. Some Gen-Gs are also direct candidates in the elections to be held on 21 Falgun. Many Gen-G warriors are on the streets with the aim of realizing the dreams of Gen-G martyrs, injured and warriors. They are speaking. They are writing. They are asking questions.
