The Election Commission has stated that all preparations for the House of Representatives elections to be held on Falgun 21 have reached the final stage. Joint Secretary and Spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai informed at the weekly press conference organized by the Commission on Friday that ballot papers, ballot boxes and election materials have been delivered to all districts.
The voter education program is ongoing in all 6,743 wards of 753 local levels. The voter education program, which began on Falgun 3 by mobilizing volunteers, will continue until Falgun 17. The employees and security personnel assigned to the polling stations have started leaving for the polling stations.
He also said that the Government of Nepal and the concerned local levels have been requested to make the physical infrastructure including schools, health institutions, ward offices, etc., where the polling stations are located, available for use in the voting process. The Commission has taken necessary decisions in the areas of election security, operation and facilitation of essential services, and coordination and management of the election and voting process.
