A significant number of young people have filed their candidacies in the upcoming elections. According to the Election Commission, nearly half of those filing their candidacies nationwide are under the age of 40.

According to the latest data from the commission, a total of 1,188 independent candidates have registered for the House of Representatives elections. Of these, 500 are under the age of 40. This is about 42 percent of the total number of independent candidates.

Of the 500 independent candidates under the age of 40, 64 are women. According to the commission, the youngest candidates are 25 years old.

15 people have filed their candidacies from this minimum age group.
