A writ petition filed in the Supreme Court against the decision to grant immunity to those involved in the illegal trade of teenage girls' eggs has been scheduled for hearing in a single bench of Justice Abdul Aziz Musalman. The writ petition filed by advocate Upendra Raut has also been scheduled for the first hearing.

A writ petition was filed on Sunday, claiming that the decision taken by the office with the aim of protecting Attorney General Savita Bhandari and her relatives was against the law.

The Attorney General's Office had decided not to prosecute the case on 30 Ashoja on the instructions of Attorney General Bhandari after the CIB recommended that a case be filed against the operators of two IVF (in-vitro fertilization) clinics who were involved in the business of extracting eggs from poor girls and selling them to others by offering financial inducements.

The writ petition has sought an interim order to quash the decision not to prosecute and to prosecute the case, claiming that the operators of Hope Fertility and Diagnostic Clinic in Babarmahal are Dr. Pratyusha Baral and Dr. Swasti Sharma, daughters of Attorney General Bhandari and that he himself is also a partner.

The CIB of Nepal Police had been investigating since 26 Ashad. The CIB had arrested Dr. Swasti Sharma, Asim Adhikari, Dr. Malini Chaudhary, Alisa Oli and Justina Pradhan, who were associated with the Hope Fertility and Diagnostic Clinic in Babarmahal and the Angel Fertility Clinic in Maharajgunj, for their involvement in the incident.
