As major highways and road sections blocked due to floods and landslides after incessant rains will not be opened immediately, the police has requested passengers and drivers to stay in safe places.

Spokesperson of the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, Superintendent of Police Naresh Raj Subedi also informed Kantipur that notices have been issued at checkpoints for drivers and passengers to stay in safe places and keep vehicles there after traffic was stopped on various sections of the road.

'As the road is not open immediately, passengers and drivers have been asked to be safe,' he said. All the roads connecting Kathmandu are now closed after the rains.
