Only four months ago, he sent his wife Mangala Shrestha to Japan for a loan. His family has to pay monthly installments of Rs 40,000 even now.
According to Keshav Rai, the uncle of the deceased Rai, during the last rites at Pashupati Aryaghat in Kathmandu, he received 40 thousand rupees from the Police Welfare Fund but did not receive any other support from anywhere.
'For the funeral at Pashupati Aryaghat, 40,000 was received from the Police Welfare Fund . But 50,000 rupees were spent at Aryaghat itself," said uncle Keshav, "According to the religious method, two and a half lakh rupees have been spent on doing the kazkiriya.
Milan's family has come to Kathmandu on Monday from Sindhuli to see if those involved in the murder of Milan will be prosecuted and get help from the state.

The story of Uttam Thapa, a police constable working in Maharajgunj police circle, is also the same. Due to financial problems, his body could not be taken to the village for burial. Apart from the 40,000 given by the police welfare fund in Pashupati Aryaghat, this family has not received any assistance. Thapa's brother had died after falling from Bhir only 7 months ago. The mother of two children is now alone in the village
. Uttam's father had already died of diabetes. Uttam's job was running his house. Darchula Lekam Rural Municipality-3 The Thapa family with Gumakholi house does not even have land for cultivation. According to the deceased Thapa's mother, since the purchase of ration in the village, the money for other household expenses is yet to be paid.
Now Uttam's last rites are being spent with the help of his uncles, the mother said. Uttam, 30, had been in police service for nine years.
The family of 31-year-old Police Assistant Constable Amrit Gurung, who died while serving in the Koteshwar Police Division, has also completed his last rites. "There is still work to be done according to the culture of the Gurung community," Amrit's wife Shanti Gurung said, "1 lakh rupees have been spent so far."

Amrit's mother died of brain hemorrhage only 9 months ago. The debt of that time in the family is also in the Gurung family . Amrit has 22-month-old son, father and wife at home. He joined the police service on 15 October 2070. On August 23 and 24, three policemen including Assistant Constable Amrit Gurung of Police Division Koteshwar, Police Constable Uttam Thapa and Police Constable Uttam Thapa of Police Circle Maharajgunj were killed during the movement and subsequent demonstrations.
Since then, the police head office has decided to give 10 lakh rupees to the family of the deceased policeman by deducting from the salary of the IGP to the police inspector. After the death of the earning member of the family, now the family is looking for a loan and performing their last rites.
On Sunday, the relatives of the deceased drew the attention of Home Minister Omprakash Aryal and complained that the family of the deceased was doing work by taking loans. Kamal Subedi, coordinator of Gen-G movement's deceased and victimized family struggle committee, complained that the funeral expenses were supposed to be received the day after the funeral, but they have not been received yet.
