Nepal Association for Software and IT Service Companies (NAS-IT) said that the move to completely ban social media platforms has directly affected the entire IT sector.

"In order to maintain Nepal's growing opportunities and image in the world market and also to maintain daily service communication, it is essential to have uninterrupted access to such media, as the current ban is removed as soon as possible, NAS-IT humbly requests the government of Nepal to find a long-term solution with the relevant authorities," the statement said.

NAS-IT is positive towards the Nepal government's aim of ensuring a safe and responsible digital environment, but it has been mentioned that it is ready to welcome the measures that are sought without completely disrupting the services. NAS-IT is an organization representing the IT industry of Nepal. Currently it has more than 250 member companies .

These companies work in various fields like software development, mobile app development, cyber security, cloud services and IT consulting. Primarily engaged in exporting information technology services . Nepal exported information technology services worth 515.4 million US dollars in 2022.
