The prison administration has not been able to return the prisoners who were injured in the violent incident in the Kailali prison and were discharged after being treated at the hospital. Seti Provincial Hospital has discharged 36 people so far. Three of them have been transferred to Kanchanpur Jail on Wednesday. All others are in the provincial hospital.

"Now only 9 people are being treated here. We have discharged the others," said Kishore Shrestha, information officer of the hospital, "but the prison administration has kept them in the hospital." 

Kailali police chief SP Balnarsingh Rana said that they had to be kept in the hospital after assessing the possibility of insecurity in the jail. "We have arranged security arrangements for the house of the provincial hospital where prisoners are kept, like a prison," he said. A joint team of police and armed police has been deployed for security outside the building of Corona Hospital under the provincial hospital where prisoners are kept. 

Prison administration says that the condition of the prison is normal. According to an employee of the prison, there is an analysis by the security agencies and the prison administration that there is a risk of being attacked again if those who were injured in the incident a week ago are returned to Kailali prison in the current state. "If they are sent back, anything can happen," said the employee, "the fear remains." We are not in a position to say anything with certainty.

Another employee of the prison said that the option of transferring the injured inmates to another place is a priority. According to him, relatives of prisoners have been asked to apply for transfer. Chief District Officer Gogan Bahadur Hamal has been dragged to the Ministry of Home Affairs after the incident in the prison. Krishna Prasad Lamsal was appointed from Dang in his place, but he did not arrive till Thursday. 

In Kailali prison last Friday, inmates of Block 'A' broke into Block 'B' and attacked one person. During the incident, there were 700 people including 368 prisoners and 332 detainees. According to the prison administration, there were 126 inmates and 168 inmates of drug cases. There were 94 prisoners and 66 prisoners of extortion, 85 prisoners and 21 prisoners of duty.

There were 30 theft cases, 26 homicide cases, 23 vehicle homicides, 12 legal cases, 10 human trafficking cases, 9 cases of some public crimes, 7 cases of robbery, 5 cases of embezzlement, 5 cases of fraud, 4 cases of human trafficking and body hostages, 4 cases of polygamy, 2 cases of selling live flesh, 2 cases of polygamy, and 1 case of currency. Bharat Chaudhary, who lost his life in the attack, belongs to the drug case.
