As the discussion about the appointment of the governor continues, the petition filed in the Supreme Court will not be sent for hearing today. This writ was filed in the bench of Judges Hariprasad Phuyal and Nityananda Pandey.

Lawyers Pratibha Upreti and Vishal Thapa filed a supplementary writ on Friday seeking a 'prohibition mixed injunction' to stop the government from appointing Gunakar Bhatt as the governor.

Previously, advocates Upreti and Thapa had filed a writ demanding the cancellation of the amendment to appoint officials and members of public bodies affiliated to the Ministry of Finance (including Rashtra Bank) through the second amendment 2073 (second amendment).
