Tetar Sahu of Nepali Congress has been elected as the chairman of Gadhi rural municipality ward number 6 of Sunsari.

According to the Election Commission, Sahu got 816 votes in the by-election held on Sunday.

Kusheshwar Kherwar of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Centre), Sahu's nearest rival, got 794 votes. Candidate Shantu Orao of Nepal Communist Party (UML) got 770 votes, while Kabita Kumari Orao of Rashtriya Prajatantra Party got 87. 

Shashikumar Sahu of National Independent Party got 33 votes, Sitaram Yadav of Janmat Party got 30 votes, Yoga Narayan Rishidev of Inclusive Samajwadi Party Nepal got 12 votes, Rajo Devi Rishidev of Federal Democratic National Forum got 11 votes, Bachalal Aragaria Yadav of Rashtriya Prajatantra Party Nepal got 10 votes and independent candidate Shyamdev Mahato got 3 votes. According to the Election Commission.
