A complaint has been filed against RSVP Chairman and former Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane and former DIG Chabilal Joshi Banjade at District Police Office Chitwan on Wednesday for misappropriating the funds of cooperatives.

The savers of Sahara Chitwan Multi-Purpose Cooperative have submitted a supplementary complaint to the police with the demand that they be investigated for fraud and organized crime. 

The saver filed a complaint against Lamichhane and Joshi for embezzling Rs 108 million from Sahara Cooperative to Gorkha Media Network Pvt. Member of the House of Representatives elected from Chitwan-2, Lamichhane is the former managing director of Gorkha Media and Joshi is the former vice president. Both of them are in the custody of the Kaski police for investigation into the offenses of cooperative fraud, organized crime and money laundering. Sahara savers have already filed a complaint against Gorkha Media Chairman Gitendrababu (GB) Rai. 

Superintendent of Police (SP) Gautam Mishra of the District Police Office confirmed that the supplementary complaint of the saver had been received and said that he would further study it and proceed with the investigation. Earlier, on October 9 last year, the savers of Sahara filed a complaint with the police against money embezzlement. After investigation, a case was filed against 17 people in the district court. When the case was filed, the office of the District Attorney (Government Attorney) had also instructed the police to conduct further investigations on the Gorkha media, where it was found that Sahara Chitwan Cooperative's funds had gone. The police said that the investigation is on and after the investigation, the supplementary charge sheet will be taken to the court. 

Earlier, in the indictment filed in the court, it was mentioned that 446 victim savers have to pay 376 million 65 million 84 thousand 546 rupees. The investigation showed that the savings of Rs. Total savers are 6 thousand 334 people. It is mentioned in the indictment that the difference between the savings amount and the amount currently claimed is 14 crore 67 lakh 762 rupees, and later when complaints are filed by the savers, it will be done according to the law.

Sahara Chitwan Cooperative's funds went to Gorkha Media as well as Nature Herbs International Pvt Ltd, GB Group of Companies, Nature Nest Pvt Ltd, Chandragiri Sub Remit Pvt Ltd, Nex Music Bar Pvt Ltd and Swarnalakshmi Multi-Purpose Cooperative Organization according to Chitwan police investigation. The savers have also filed supplementary complaints against these institutions and the managing partners of the company.
