Ravi Lamichhane, the president of RSWP, who was detained during the investigation for the crimes related to cooperative fraud, organized crime and money laundering, was brought back to Pokhara from Butwal on Friday. He was brought to Pokhara by Yeti Airlines plane on Friday afternoon.

He was taken to Rupandehi on Tuesday during the investigation as money went to Gorkha Media Network even from Supreme Cooperative of Butwal. He got down to Bhairahawa from Pokhara International Airport by ship. From the airport, he was directly taken to the district attorney's office in Rupandehi for statement. His statement was taken for 23 hours in three days in the office. Kaski Police Spokesperson DSP Vasant Kumar Sharma said that the statement was completed late on Thursday.

Butwal sub-metropolitan city-9 highway intersection office has been opened from Supreme Savings and Loan Cooperative on Chait 18, 2077 by taking a loan of 2 crores. Out of 2 crores, 1 crore 96 lakh rupees went to Gorkha Media Network in the name of Lamichhane after deducting the service fee deducted by the organization. Similarly, Rs 1 crore has been deposited separately in Global IME Bank in the name of Ravi Lamichhane and Roshni Gurung. At the time of taking the loan, he was the Managing Director at Gorkha Media Network. When he started shouting slogans while bringing him from Pokhara airport to the custody of the district police office in Gaihrapatan, the police detained 7 RSVP activists. Sharma said that they were arrested because they were going to shout slogans in the prohibited area in front of the police office and were released on Friday.

Since the day after the arrest of Lamichhane, the protest of the RSP and co-operative victims started, the administration has designated Gaihrapatan, where the district police office is located, and Sahidchowk, Baidam area, where the district court is located, as a prohibited area. Currently, on the day of taking the court for extension, the RSWP workers have reached the perimeter of the prohibited area in Pokhara and demonstrated. On other days, they sit on human rights chowk with placards.

The Parliamentary Inquiry Special Committee on the misappropriation of cooperative society savings funds prepared a report and submitted it to Parliament on August 31. In that report, it was seen that crores of rupees from 5 cooperatives of Geetendrababu Rai (GB) group all over the country went to Gorkha Media Network, and it was recommended that action should be taken against the directors.

During the implementation of the report, the former director of Gorkha Media Network and former DIG Chabilal Joshi was arrested for the first time on October 6. Lamichhane was arrested on October 2. Suryadarshan Cooperative ex-employee Leela Pachai and GB Rai's company Nature Herbs owner Ramkumar Khanal have also been arrested and are in Kaski police custody. As there is a legal provision for 90-day detention and investigation in money laundering offences, four people have been kept for an extended period of time. Last time, the district court extended the deadline by 13 days on October 25.
