Ram Bahadur Khanal has been arrested by the police for investigating the savings fraud case of Suryadarshan Cooperative. Kaski Police Spokesperson DSP Vasant Kumar Sharma said that Khanal from Bhanu Municipality-8 Bagalephant in Tanahun was brought to Pokhara by air on Friday. According to him, the Kaski District Court allowed Khanal to be arrested and investigated for crimes related to cooperative fraud, organized crime and money laundering.
Khanal Rai is also a shareholder of Gorkha Group of Companies Limited. In the financial analysis report prepared by Pokhara Metropolitan Municipality, it is mentioned that crores of rupees went from Suryadarshan to Nature Herbs and Gorkha Group of Companies. The government banned the networking business in 2068. He then used the earlier network to launch cooperatives in major cities across the country. In those cooperatives, they misappropriated the funds collected by common people and ran networking businesses under the names of Nature Herbs, Nature Nest, etc. It is said in the
