The UML has said that it has accepted the donation for the party central office building by the businessmen Meen Bahadur Gurung couple with a transparent and open heart.
UML Propaganda Department Chief Rajendra Gautam issued a statement on Wednesday saying that there was no deal and no connection with the land acquired for the party building and said that the comments made about this are regrettable . "Exaggerated comments regarding land acquisition and a permanent solution for the construction of the central office building are very regrettable." It is reprehensible to slander the party and its leadership against a party with a long historical heritage of 75 years. There is no bargaining or dealing in it.'
Gautam has said that he himself will deal with the pending cases in the name of Gurung. He argued that even in democratic countries there is a tradition and practice of helping businessmen in general and said that the comments about land donation are for public consumption. "Considering it otherwise, public consumption, arguments made in the name of puritanism, and asking for arguments that have no justification, criticisms and suggestions based on facts will be acceptable for the party," he said.
UML has said that the Gurung couple has donated in the context of finding a house for the stability of the central office which has been unstable in the past . UML called upon the party members, supporters, well-wishers from the entire meeting for the construction of the party building from the first meeting of the party's national convention representative council (8-9 Baisakh 2081, Godavari Lalitpur).
Mentioning that a committee has been formed under the coordination of the party's senior vice-president Ishwar Pokharel, UML has called for support through meetings at various levels, including the central committee, and mentioned that the UML 'successful businessman and democrat personality, supporters and well-wishers of our party, Meen Bahadur Gurung and his religious wife Savitri Gurung, from Kirtipur Municipality-2, It has been said that 10 ropani and 14 annas of land in Maitrinagar were donated for free and helped to build the party central office building.
"The 38th meeting of the secretariat held on October 24, 2081 accepted it institutionally and thanked him for his support," UML said in a statement.
Party President and Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has officially inaugurated the building on the land received from donation on October 25th in the presence of senior leaders of the party. UML has stated that Gurung has been an active activist of Aneraswawiyu and Swawiyu since his student days and worked as a member of the central working committee of the banking sector while working in Nepal Bank Limited, played a leading role in the trade union movement as the central treasurer of the inter-institute, and worked in the ideological and political proximity of the party.  ;
