Prime Minister and UML President KP Sharma Oli has laid the foundation stone for the central office of the party. UML is going to construct a central office in Kirtipur Municipality-2 Maitrinagar.

The meeting of the UML secretariat on Thursday decided to build the party central office in Kirtipur. 

Prime Minister Oli, who is also the president of UML, laid the foundation stone of the party's central office on Friday according to the Vedic method. UML leaders/activists including Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel who is also UML Vice President, Senior Vice President Ishwar Pokharel, General Secretary Shankar Pokharel and other UML leaders/activists were present at the groundbreaking ceremony.

UML has said that it will build the party headquarters building with the membership fees and support of the party members. The land for the construction of UML headquarters was provided by Min Bahadur Gurung, manager of Bhatbhateni Super Market and his wife Savitri Gurung. UML General Secretary Shankar Pokharel has said that the land is 10 ropani 14 annas.

After the 2072 earthquake, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-14  The UML party office in Madannagar Balkhu was destroyed and since then it has been living in rented buildings in different places for 9 years. At present, the party office in Chasal also has to face floods every year, so the work of building a central office has started permanently, UML said.
