Himalaya Airlines is also going to fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara and Bhairahawa due to the pressure of passengers on small planes of private airlines and tickets are not easily available.
Himalaya's Vice President Vijay Shrestha said that there is a plan to fly from Tribhuvan International Airport to Bhairahawa-based Gautam Buddha International Airport and Pokhara International Airport before Dasai.
'If the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation and the Nepal Civil Aviation Authority issue permission to Himalaya Airlines, then we are positive to fly,' Himalaya's administrative vice president Shrestha told Kantipur.
Himalaya has stated that according to the passenger's demand, any type of ship can be sent on these two routes, either a narrow body with 180 seats or an Airbus A-319 with a capacity of 114 seats.
Minister of State for Tourism Arun Chowdhury said that the government has taken the initiative to send the narrow body aircraft of Nepal Air Service Corporation and Himalaya Airlines as all the highways were blocked due to the flood landslides that occurred last week.
'During the calamity, passengers cannot easily get tickets on the two dozen 72-seat aircrafts of Buddha, Yeti and Shree Airlines, Paiha also gets the maximum price tickets, so we have taken the initiative from the ministry to send narrow body aircraft of both airlines to Biratnagar and Dhangadhi,' said the Minister of State. Chaudhary said, 'Nepal Aviation Corporation has already initiated the authority for flight permission on Sunday. As soon as the permission is received, the ticket sales of the Corporation's Bhairahawa flight will be opened.
He said that the government is also taking initiatives to give Himalayan permission to fly to Pokhara and Bhairahawa according to the number of passengers.
Stating that sending a narrowbody plane to fly passengers on these routes is not beneficial to the airline company, State Minister Chaudhary said that this decision had to be taken to show the presence of the state.
"We are taking initiatives to waive the charges of fuel, airport landing, parking, etc. for both airlines," said State Minister Choudhary, "Both these airlines will operate domestic flights without affecting their regular international flights."
