The Nepal Panchang Adjudicatory Development Committee has said that even today Ashwin Shukla 4th Tithi has been extended, according to the method of Durga Puja during Navratri, Goddess Kushmanda should be worshipped.

Chairman of the committee Prof. Srikrishna Adhikari informed that the fourth date is till 06:16 this morning. Therefore, even today according to the method of Durga Puja, there is a classical method of worshiping Goddess Kushmanda. Sunday was also the fourth day at sunrise. Sunday, day and night, i.e. 60 hours, was the fourth day.

Although today is the fifth day since Ghatasthapana, the fourth act should be done today as the date has increased. Puja and worship of Skandamata, the fifth goddess of Navadurga, should be done on Tuesday when the sun rises on Ashwin Shukla Panchami. This year, fourth date has been increased in Navratri while Navami date has been shortened. The presiding officer also informed that after the performance of Mahaashtami date on October 25th, one should rest for some time and perform Mahanavami on the same day.

This year's Navratri, also known as Durga Paksha, has been extended to a fourth date, but the ninth date has been broken, so the Navratri has nine nights, according to the committee. This happens from time to time due to changes in dates.
