So far, 244 people have died in the recent floods and 19 people are missing. Another 179 people were injured.

According to Rishiram Tiwari, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Home Affairs, 17 thousand one hundred and seventy-four people have been rescued from the flood-affected areas. Efforts to operate the means of transportation by mobilizing aid and repairing blocked highways are continuing. 

'Details of flood victims are being collected from the local level . After that is received, the aid money provided by the government for temporary housing will be distributed. Support including food has been provided to the affected families from the local level, said spokesperson Tiwari.

The government has provided assistance to the families of the deceased at the rate of two lakh rupees through the District Disaster Management Fund. So far, 160 families have received such assistance.

The maximum number of 77 people have died in Kavrepalanchok in the flood and so far financial assistance has been provided to the relatives of 59 deceased, said spokesperson Tiwari .
