Due to the floods and landslides that occurred after the incessant rains, there has been a huge loss of life and property across the country.
At least 50 people have died and dozens are missing across the country till 2 pm on Saturday. Hundreds of people trapped in the flood have been rescued.
According to information sent by Kantipur correspondents, 11 people have died in Kathmandu, 16 in Lalitpur, 5 in Bhaktapur, 6 in Kavrepalanchok, 2 in Sindhpalchok, 5 in Panchthar, 2 in Dhankuta, 1 each in Sindhuli, Jhapa and Dhading.
Dozens have been injured in the flood and dozens more are missing. According to the police, 32 people have died in the flood and inundation in the valley alone. 12 people are missing. In the valley, only 1053 people trapped in the flood have been rescued.
The flood has destroyed four concrete houses in the valley and 1,244 houses have been flooded, SSP Vishwa Adhikari of the police headquarters informed.
According to the police, floods, landslides, inundation and erosion have caused damage in 44 districts across the country. Among them, various road sections of 39 districts have been completely blocked. The police said that efforts are being made to open the road in some places.
