Congress MP Bimalendra Nidhi has said that the government should take action against those who embezzled the money brought to Gorkha Media Group by cheating cooperatives. At the Congress District Working Committee meeting in Kathmandu on Saturday, Nidhi, who is also the former Home Minister, said that the government should take steps to bring legal action against those who embezzle funds from cooperatives.

Nidhi criticized the fact that even though the report of the Parliamentary Special Investigation Committee on the misappropriation of cooperative savings funds was made public, Ravi Lamichhane, chairman of RSVP and MP Ravi Lamichhane, is denying his involvement in cooperative fraud.

Nidhi mentioned that the parliamentary investigation special committee found Lamichhane guilty of misappropriation of cooperative funds and recommended action. From the committee

Stating that the leaders of RSVP are giving a clean chit to Lamichhane even though he was convicted, Nidhi said, 'has the definition of clean chit changed ?'

Nidhi has also objected to the statement that Lamichhane is not involved in co-operative fraud as he only mobilized the money received by Gorkha media. He said, 'Then why handcuff the mower?'

Lamichhane only cut a check to mobilize the funds that came to the company, Nidhi refuted the argument of the leaders of RSVP saying that he was not involved in cooperative fraud.

Similarly, Nidhi has asked the Kathmandu District Committee to start preparations for the upcoming local level by-elections. Congress Kathmandu District President Krishna Sabuj Baniya said that the party has started preparations for local elections.
