The government has arranged the necessary budget for forest fire control. Finance Minister Barshman Pun gave this information while speaking at the joint meeting of both the houses of the Federal Parliament on Tuesday, where necessary funds have been arranged in the budget of the next financial year for the purchase of equipment for forest fire control and the implementation of public awareness programs.

He also informed that the money received from the carbon trade will be spent on the relief of the communities that are at risk due to climate change.

I have arranged a budget to purchase equipment and conduct public awareness programs for forest fire control. Forest encroachment control and tree plantation programs will be conducted to reduce forest destruction and degradation. Emission reduction programs will be conducted to continue the carbon trading program. Arrangements will be made to sell the reduced carbon emissions or increased carbon storage through the reduction of carbon emissions and the sustainable management of forests by the government or the private sector in the national or international markets. Funds received from carbon trading will be used to develop the adaptive capacity of communities most at risk from climate change. The RED program will be continued after estimating the forest carbon of Koshi and Karnali states, said the finance minister.

Finance Minister Pun also informed that the RED program will be continued after assessing the forest carbon of Koshi and Karnali provinces.
