The officer who issued the citizenship in the name of Kantipur Media Group chairman Kailash Sirohia has confirmed that the signature is his own. Instead of getting information from the relevant authorities, Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane spread rumors that Sirohia had acquired citizenship and got him arrested.
However, the then administrative officer Kashiraj Dahal has given a statement to the police that the signature is his own. Dahal, who recently retired from the joint secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, was called by the Dhanusha police.
Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Lamichhane asked Indrajit Prasad Mahato, a member of the RSWP Madhesh Province Working Committee, to file a complaint. Sirohia was arrested on Tuesday and brought to Dhanusha directly from the office of Kantipur Media Group, without even a single correspondence, inquiry, or statement about citizenship.
Instead of investigating after receiving a complaint, the police first arrested and started investigation. Dhanusha police made a statement on Saturday with Dahal, the then administrative officer who gave citizenship copy to Sirohia in 2057.
Sirohia, who was born on November 29, 2019, registered 39698886 no. obtained the citizenship of Based on the same citizenship details, District Administration Office Dhanusha gave a copy on August 29, 2057. Dahal was an administrative officer in Dhanusha administration when the copy was issued.
"According to the citizenship certificate issued in the year 2036, the signature on the copy issued in the name of Kailash Prasad Sirohia on August 29, 2057 is mine, the short signature on it also seems to be mine," Dahal told the police.
When citizenship was issued for the first time in 2036, the age was only 18 years old according to the practice of the time. When the copy was issued in 2057, while Fantwala took out the old details, Dahal wrote the date of birth on 29.8.2019 and signed it on both sides.
An officer of Dhanusha Police said that Dahal confirmed the signature while giving the statement paper to the police. The Home Minister has mobilized the police to carry out more conspiracies. "It is not certain that Dahal signed only one citizenship, even if it was tested with other documents signed by him at that time, it would have been clear whether it was his signature or not, but the home minister ordered the arrest of the Kantipur chairman anyway," said the official, "he signed mine." The citizenship number appears to be the same. The police was assigned to arrest Sirohia without even investigating how such an error was made by the administration. Information was taken from Teli only after Sirohia was arrested and extended twice.
