Kantipur Media Group Chairman Kailash Sirohia has been detained by the District Court Dhanusha for 3 more days and the police has been allowed to investigate on Monday.
Judge Yaduraj Sharma's bench allowed Sirohia to be detained till Wednesday to investigate the allegations. The police had asked for an extension saying that the report on the signature of Sirohia's citizenship with date of birth has been sent for forensic examination.
Indrajit Prasad Mahato, a member of Madhes province of RSVP, lodged a complaint with the Dhanusha police saying that the citizenship number issued in the name of Sirohia was the same as that of another person. Based on that, the police arrested Sirohia from the office of the Kantipur headquarters in Thapathali last Tuesday and brought him to Dhanusha.
Next day Wednesday District Court Dhanusha allowed Sirohia to be detained for 3 days for investigation. As the investigation was not completed within the specified period, the police requested permission to keep the police in custody for 5 more days through the public prosecutor's office on Friday, and the court gave them a deadline of Sunday. On Monday, three more deadlines have been extended for the investigation of Sirohia.
