Chairman of Kantipur Media Group, Kailash Sirohia, who has been in police custody for four days, has been admitted to the hospital due to health problems.
Sirohia, who was arrested in Kathmandu last Tuesday and taken to Janakpur overnight, was unwell for two days. He was admitted to the hospital on Friday after he developed high blood pressure, heart rate fluctuations and headaches. Sirohia's lawyer, Raman Karna, informed the police about his health condition on Friday evening, but the delay added to the problem. The family asked the police to send them to the hospital after the heart problems, dizziness and headache increased. However, the police delayed. He was admitted to the provincial hospital in Janakpur only after his health condition became serious, said Karn.
Sirohia has been shifted to Kavya Hospital as the provincial hospital does not have neurology and other testing facilities. Dr. SK Singh said that Kavya is being treated. "He had an angiography done in Mumbai since he was already suffering from a heart problem," said Singh, "We came to know that he is in a critical condition. As we have not received the report of the test we have done now, we have to do the test again in six to eight hours.'
