Sudhir Sharma, former editor-in-chief of Kantipur Dainik, said that the arrest of Kailash Sirohia, president of Kantipur Media Group, along with the siege and intervention of hundreds of policemen, clearly shows the intention to take revenge and cause pain.

Former Editor-in-Chief Sharma said on Wednesday that when the news about the co-operative scam involving the Minister of Home Affairs was coming through social media X, forcing his workers to file a complaint and arresting them without investigation is an attempt to stop such news and to silence other media/citizens .

Sharma says that the responsibility of Tuesday's incident should be taken not only by Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane but also by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal. He wrote, 'The intention of taking revenge and causing pain is evident by the arrest of hundreds of policemen in the media house against the pre-order of the court, which does not have the possibility of escaping or destroying evidence. And, not only the Home Minister is responsible for this, but also Pram Prachanda, who is determined to impose an invisible dictatorship on himself with an 'innocent' appearance.'

Former editor-in-chief Sharma also said that Tuesday's incident was a matter of revenge . What was done in Kantipur yesterday is clearly a matter of revenge. The state can investigate Kantipur publisher Kailash Sirohia or anyone else if it deems it necessary, but the main thing is how and with what intention it is being done,' he said.

The president of Kantipur Media Group, Sirohia, was arrested from the office on Tuesday on the pretext that the citizenship number given by the district administration matched that of another person.

The police team reached the eighth floor office of the Kantipur office to arrest President Sirohia while he was at work trampling on the democratic practice of not allowing security agencies of the state to enter the office of the independent press. A team including SSP Sanukumar Bhattarai and SP Ravindra Regmi of the Valley Crime Investigation Office Kathmandu entered the working room with police officers including Bardi.

On Tuesday in Kantipur, Gorkha Media published news under the title of embezzlement of 958.1 million rupees by four cooperatives, during the period when Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Ravi Lamichhane was the managing director of the company, 803.1 million rupees were received from cooperatives in Gorkha Media. A large number of police were mobilized in the Kantipur office complex and Thapathali road from early morning.

Sirohia was taken away by Bardidhari police in the presence of journalists federation, media society, lawyers, civil leaders, parliamentarians, various media publishers and journalists at the Kantipur office complex.
