Due to the continuous rain, the water flow in the rivers within the Kathmandu Metropolitan City is increasing and the possibility of flooding has increased, the Education Department of the Metropolitan City has issued instructions to all community and institutional schools to be prepared for disaster management. Residents living in vulnerable slums near the river are being shifted to nearby schools.
According to the disaster management department of the metropolitan city, the water level of Bagmati, Vishnumati and other rivers has been kept under surveillance. Schools have been identified as shelters in Thali, Baneshwar, Koteshwar and Dobhan areas in coordination with local ward members. In the event of a disaster, the residents may lack places to live, sleep and sleep, so schools have been instructed to prepare basic facilities (such as toilets, drinking water, safe places) and assist in rescue operations.
