Seven parties have initiated the process to move a no-confidence motion against Madhesh Province Speaker Ram Chandra Mandal.

Deputy Speaker Babita Raut has already set a deadline for the 'proposal that the Speaker has not behaved in a manner befitting his office'. But the letter has not been registered.

The leaders and MPs of the seven parties are currently in the Provincial Assembly premises. The Provincial Assembly Secretariat has stated that the office hours have expired and there is no staff to register.

The seven parties claim that the leaders of the parliamentary parties were not allowed to use the rostrum in the Provincial Assembly in the meeting on Kartik 22, contrary to the decision of the Business Advisory Committee, the assembly was repeatedly conducted by the party as per the instructions of one party, and the assembly was conducted without the presence of the opposition party.

The letter states that the proposal was submitted in support of 74 Provincial Assembly members as per Sub-rule (1) of Rule 180 of the Provincial Assembly Business Procedures Regulations, 2075 BS.

The letter was signed by Nepali Congress Chief Whip Kumar Kant Jha, JSP Nepal Chief Whip Ram Ashish Yadav, Janmat Party Parliamentary Party Leader Mahesh Prasad Yadav, NCP Maoist Center Parliamentary Party leader Bharat Prasad Sah, Lospa Parliamentary Party leader Jayanul Rain, United Socialist Party Chief Whip Kanish Patel, and Civil Liberties Party Parliamentary Party leader Urmila Devi Singh as proposers. JSP Parliamentary Party Leader Saroj Kumar Yadav (Bara) said that the Speaker Mandal has taken a party-based stance in the operation of the parliament and has initiated the proposal registration process.
