Voting for the post of ward president has started in both the wards of Saptari's Dakneshwari municipality under the by-elections at the local level. Voting for the post of ward president in Dakneshwari municipality ward No. 1 and 4 is going on.

There are a total of 2,623 voters in Ward No. 1, while 8 candidates are in the election field for the Ward President. Elections are being held here in three centers of two polling stations. 

Similarly, 8 candidates are competing in Ward No. 4, which has a total of 1,319 voters. Voting is going on in two centers of one polling station.

The security arrangements have been tightened in the places where the elections are taking place. The Indian border connected to Dakneshwari municipality where the election is taking place has been sealed.
