Chief Minister of Lumbini State Chetnarayan Acharya has said that there is a possibility of operating a monorail to connect Buddha Circuit.

In a discussion with the member of the House of Representatives and prominent businessman Vinod Chaudhary at the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers Office, Rapti Valley (Deukhuri) on Monday, Chief Minister Acharya said that there is a basis for running a monorail to connect Kapilvastu, Rupandehi and Nawalparasi through Buddha circuit. He said that the provincial government is ready to move forward in partnership with the private sector.

He said that the provincial government has planned to study the feasibility of monorail operation and attract the private sector. Now the monorail can be run here,' he said, ``the private sector can invest in it.''

Chief Minister Acharya said that the state government is taking initiatives to brand Lumbini, the birthplace of Gautama Buddha, and develop it as the first destination for Buddhists from around the world. He said that a comprehensive plan will be created through the tourism board to link the overall development of Lumbini. During the

discussion, the member of the House of Representatives Chowdhury asked the state government to include a plan for the next financial year by giving priority to the promotion of self-employment, improvement of health services, social services, construction of infrastructure and development of tourism in Lumbini.
