Chairman and Managing Director of Chitwan Medical College Dr. Harishchandra Neupane said that it will not be a medical city because it is only a hospital. In the third session of 'Chitwan Chintan' organized by Kantipur Media Group in Chitwan on Thursday, Neupane said that the government should recognize the Medical City in the third session of 'Investment in Education and Health: Chitwan's Chinari'.
"You, we should not call it a medical city, some body of the government should declare it as a medical city," he said, "People should be able to say with a heavy heart that we are in Chitwan Medical City." He said that they should be able to say that the infrastructure and facilities are sufficient for a medical city. Neupane and He said that the necessary subjects for Medical City should be identified.
'A hospital is not a medical city. Today, Chitwan has 4,000 beds and 500 critical care beds,' he said. We have been certified as a medical city.'
Even during the time of Covid, he told how many patients complained that they did not get critical services even though there were 500 critical care beds. He says that there is no critical care bed in Kathmandu and he came back after treatment in Chitwan. "We have proved a medical city that is understood by the general public," he said, "Nowadays policy makers have to prove it as a medical city."
The government should recognize Chitwan as a medical city. "It should be written in some law, law, policy, rule and procedure," he said. In order to make it accessible, we had to pay attention to the facilities of transportation, staying in hotels, and dignosis.'
