The National Independent Party (NIP), which won both the Gorkha-1 and 2 constituencies in the House of Representatives elections, has also received 58,552 votes in the proportional representation. The counting of votes in both the Gorkha proportional representation constituencies ended on Wednesday.
NIPP has received 30,848 votes in Gorkha-1 and 27,704 votes in Gorkha-2. Earlier, the NC and the Maoists had been winning alternately, but this time the NIPP has won with a large majority. The current NCP (then Maoists), which had dominated both constituencies in the 2064 elections, has reached the third position. The NC is in second place with 24,516 votes in the proportional representation. The NC has received 14,169 votes in Gorkha-1 and 10,347 votes in Gorkha-2.
Nepali Communist Party (NCP) has received 20,953 votes. The NCP received 10,701 votes in Gorkha-1 and 10,252 votes in Gorkha-2. In direct elections, the Congress candidate came second and the NCP candidate came third in both the Gorkha constituencies.
In direct elections, the UML, whose deposit was forfeited after failing to clear 10 percent of the total votes, received 6,720 votes in proportional representation. In the House of Representatives, it received 3,779 votes in Gorkha-1 and 2,941 votes in Gorkha-2.
The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) received 1,348 votes. The RPP received 622 votes in Gorkha-1 and 726 votes in Gorkha-2.
The Progressive Democratic Party (PRLP) under the patronage of Baburam Bhattarai received 1,123 votes in both the constituencies. Pralopa received 541 votes in Gorkha-1 and 582 votes in Gorkha-2.
Shram Sanskriti Party received 1,182 votes. Shram Sanskriti Party received 486 votes in Gorkha-1 and 696 votes in Gorkha-2.
Rastriya Parivartan Party received 96 votes in Gorkha-1 and 468 votes in Gorkha-2. Rastriya Mukti Andolan Nepal received 80 votes in Gorkha-1 and 74 votes in Gorkha-2. CPN (Maoist) received 69 votes in Gorkha-1 and 109 votes in Gorkha-2.
