77 people who were trapped in the flood of Narayani river in the area of Oxford College and Sukumwasi settlement located in Gaandakot municipality-2 have been rescued by the security personnel including the army.
Chief District Officer of East Nawalparasi Arun Pokharel said that 77 people trapped in Sukumwasi village of Gaidakot were rescued by weapons and Nepal Police. They were trapped in Hotel River Crown, Narayani Resort and local houses.
He said that the police rescued and sheltered those who were unable to get out due to Narayani flood. Houses on the banks of Narayani river under East Nawalparasi have been hit by floods.
Chief District Officer Pokharel said that the army has been mobilized for rescue in the flooded areas.
