The rains since Thursday have caused extensive damage to people's property due to the floods and landslides that have occurred in various districts of Gandaki and Lumbini provinces including Kathmandu. Dozens of families have been displaced by landslides and flooding in various districts including the valley. Most of the roads in Karnali, Gandaki, Wagmati, Lumbini provinces are blocked and passengers and vehicles are stranded.

Manoj Vick of Gorkha Shahid Lakhan Thapa Rural Municipality-6 died when the kitchen of a restaurant in Nagarjun Municipality-3 of Kathmandu was swept away by a landslide that started with the rain since Friday. Along with the heavy rains, the roads, settlements and markets of the coastal areas have been inundated due to the rise in the water level in the valley's Wagmati, Bishnumati, Dhobikhola, Manohara and Hanumante rivers. Due to the flood of Bagmati, the squatter settlement and the vegetable market of Balkhu were inundated and the corridor was also flooded and the road was blocked for the whole day.
Bhaktapur police said that more than one and a half dozen towers were inundated due to the flood of Manohara River and the locals were displaced. The UML party office and Chasal stadium in Lalitpur have been flooded. In Tarakeshwar Municipality-3 Jitpurfedi of Kathmandu, one house was damaged by the landslide, while in Kathmandu-29 Ghattekulo, about one meter of road was washed away. According to Dineshraj Mainali, Spokesperson of the Valley Police Office, people are being asked to monitor the water level in the river corridors in the valley and be vigilant.
8 dead in Gandaki, two missing
8 people have died in Tanahun, Syangja and Parbat of Gandaki province due to landslides along with incessant rains. Two people buried in the landslide are still missing. 40-year-old Hira passed away when the house of Hira Nepali and Sunmaya Kumal was swept away by a landslide in Shuklagandaki Municipality-7 Kaure of Tanahun on Saturday afternoon. Hira's body, which went missing in the afternoon, was found only in the evening. Neighbors Anisha Bastola, 37, and Shyam Bhandari, 65, are still missing. 40-year-old Bishnu Bahadur Nepali, 26-year-old Vishal Timilsina, 35-year-old Ravi Ghimire, 18-year-old Roop Kumar Nepali and 15-year-old Bimal Nepali were injured in the landslide. Gandaki Province Police Spokesperson SSP Ravindra Regmi said that the missing persons are being searched for. The injured is being treated at GP Hospital Khairenitar.
On Saturday morning, three people of the same house died after a landslide buried them in Syangdi Majhkot, Syangdi rural municipality-6. 65-year-old Guheshwari Sharma Marasini, 71-year-old Madhav Sharma and his wife 67-year-old Harimaya Sharma died when the landslide destroyed their 2-storey house. On Saturday afternoon, two people died when the 2-storey mud house of Kul Prasad Padhyay in Falewas Municipality-1 Karkineta of Parbat was destroyed by a landslide. 40-year-old Jhalak Prasad Sharma of Karkineta and 32-year-old Tulsi Prasad Sharma of Syangja Andhikhola Rural Municipality-3 Pakhrigor Dhunga, who went missing in the landslide, were found dead by a team deployed from District Police Office Parbat. Tulsi Prasad's body was found three hundred meters below the house and Jhalak Prasad's body was found in Syangjapatti Andhikhola-4 September.
50-year-old Krishna Bahadur Pulami and 51-year-old Samlal Shrestha of Lamjung Sundarbazar, who were working on the tunnel route of Tanahun Hydropower under construction in Rishing Rural Municipality-1 Jhapudar of Tanahun, died after being hit by a rock that came with the landslide. Local Keshav Prasad Adhikari Chhetri's 2-storey house and shed were also swept away by the landslide. As the water level in the Seti River rises, the settlements along the banks of the river in Pokhara are at risk.

A missing person in Narayani, all doors of Gandak barrage opened

Similarly, 25 houses were inundated in Gaindakot Municipality-2 Botetol in East Nawalparasi due to Narayani flood. According to DSP Bed Bahadur Paudel of East Nawalparasi, the drowning victims have been kept in the Toll Reform Committee building. Similarly, the flood of Kerunge river has eroded 25 bigha of arable land in Hoopsekot rural municipality-4.
One dead, two missing due to flood in Dang
51-year-old Cheduram Chowdhury, a local resident, died when his tractor overturned due to flood in the Gangadi river in Salbhouri, Rajpur rural municipality-5 of Dang. According to Dang police chief SP Ram Bahadur KC, 24-year-old Rajkumar Chaudhary and 23-year-old Mahesh Yadav, who were riding in the tractor, were injured. Two people have gone missing after being swept away by the Rapti river. 34-year-old Dayaram Yadav and 48-year-old Tularam Yadav of Rajpur-2 survived by climbing a tree, while 18-year-old Rajkumar Yadav went missing.
Similarly, 62-year-old Maniyam Chaudhary of Lamhi-8 Bagrapur has gone missing after being swept away by the Rapti. The flow of Rapti has increased and surrounding villages have been flooded. Local roads have also been blocked due to floods in various rivers. Due to the non-stop rain, there is a problem in opening the road on time, according to the relevant road division office.
14 families displaced by Seti
14 families have been displaced when Bajhang Thalara Rural Municipality-9 Jhyabagar settlement was caught between two villages due to flood of Seti river. "We left the village early in the morning after a breach broke out in the middle of the village," Lokendra Bista, the ward president of Thalara-9, said, "The level of the river has increased significantly. There is a danger that the settlement may be washed away at any time.'' Naveen Bahadur Bisht, a teacher of Janapriya Secondary School, said that although he managed to save people and animals, he was unable to save the goods inside the house after the water flow increased.

1 missing in Rolwaling river, production of upper tamakoshi stopped

Flight stopped in Karnali for 5 days, all highways blocked
Due to incessant rain, air service has been stopped in all the Himalayan districts of Karnali, while Karnali, Madhyapahari, Madan Bhandari and Rapti highways and Bheri and Karnali corridors have been blocked. Landslides occurred at 11 places on Karnali Highway, 10 on Madhyapahari and 9 on Rapti Highway, 13 on Karnali Corridor and 17 on Bheri Corridor due to rain, according to the provincial police office. All the airports in the Himalayan district of Karnali have been closed since Tuesday. According to the police, flights could not be conducted at Rara, Jumla in Mugu, Jufal in Dolpa and Simkot in Humla due to bad weather.
On the other hand, traffic has been blocked due to a landslide in Golanjor rural municipality-6 Akkare Bhir of Madhyapahari Lokmarg in Sindhuli. Due to the blocking of the highway, vehicles traveling to and from Kathmandu from the eastern hilly districts of Okhaldhunga, Khotang, Solukhumbu, Bhojpur, Udaipur and Terai are stranded.
Caution on Babai and Karnali coasts
After the water level of Babai river reached the danger point, the Bardia administration has asked the residents of the coastal area to be on high alert. Due to continuous rain for two days, the water level of Babai is flowing above 5.3 meters on Saturday afternoon. Meanwhile, the Karnali River is flowing at 6.8 meters till Saturday afternoon. In Karnali, exceeding 10 meters is considered dangerous. There is a risk that the level of Karnali will rise further due to rains in the hilly areas.
According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, 29 people have died in monsoon-related incidents including floods and landslides in the three weeks since the rains started. The Department of Water and Meteorology has said that there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rain in most of the provinces by next Monday.
In the weather forecast bulletin of the department, it is said that there is a possibility of heavy rain in Koshi, Lumbini, Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpaschim and some places of Madhesh and Wagmati on Sunday.
