The government has said that after the Melamchi Drinking Water Project, it will complete a study to bring drinking water to Kathmandu from Yangri and Larke in Sindhupalchowk, Helambu. It is mentioned that the water from this project will be diverted to the source of Melamchi drinking water. Due to which it is being claimed that Kathmandu will receive twice the water than before.
This project has been included in the budget for many years but has not been completed. Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle, while presenting the budget today, has claimed that the study of this project will be completed this time.
