Former Finance Minister Varshman Pun has reacted to the weak budget of the strong government of Parliament. After the budget was presented in the federal parliament, Pun responded that the budget did not come as expected and was dispersed.
Responding to the budget at the Federal Parliament Building New Baneshwar on Thursday, Pun said that he was not sure what he wanted to focus on in the budget.
'The budget brought by the government, which was said to be strong, appeared to be weak . Size increased . One trillion one billion has come bigger than last year . 20 percent more than the revised estimate. It didn't come up about what we wanted to do,' Pun said, 'Last year in the budget, we said five areas of economy transformation, now we don't say what. The budget is scattered in the startup and ICT sector as well, the focus was last year.'
Pun's statement was that the budget brought by the finance minister of the Congress and UML coalition government seemed to be regular. "Rather than instilling hope and making the economy run, the regular budget has come," he said. Through the
budget, policies including tax exemptions have been taken in various areas . The response was to see if those tax deductions were done with good intentions or selfishness. "We have to see whether concessions have been given in various areas, whether it has come for selfishness or with good intentions," he said.
Pun said that the previous tax rate on electric vehicles has been continued and it will strengthen Nepal's environmental policy.
