The budget for the Kathmandu-Tarai-Madhesh Expressway (Fast Track) has been increased for the next financial year. In the current financial year, 22 billion 54 million rupees were allocated for this project, and for the next fiscal year, 24 billion 49 million rupees have been allocated.
Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel said that the budget has been allocated to complete its construction within the financial year 083/84.
The dispute on the Lalitpur side of the fast track being built under the management of the Nepali Army has not been resolved yet. Because of this, there is confusion as to where the starting point will be in this area.
It has been 7 years since the army took over its construction management, but the problem of Khokna section is still there. Work has not yet started on the 6.5 km section of the Khokna/Bungmati section. Out of the total distance of 70.977 km, only 64.477 km is currently being worked on through contract management.
